2 handed swords would basically be overpowered daggers if you could doublestrike...not only that but A-net have announced that they will be making no new classes so thats the ninja idea gone...and theyre not going to add a whole new weapon mastery attribute to an existing class so this is all wishful thinking

The 2 handed greatsword can be connected with the existing swordmastery attribute for warrior because it's still a sword just longer and wider, but I don't know about katanas for assassin might fit the dagger arts because it's longer than a dagger but shorter, skinner, and quicker then a regular sword, and 2 handed greataxe goes with the axemastery because it's just a hammer with edges.

For Assassins, imho I would like to see more sword-length daggers. Shiro's blades is the coolest dagger in the game currently, just because of its length.

Not as bad as the auction, barter and trade suggestions.

So you would offset 16 armor, damage reduction and health just for a skin? As they're in the same attribute as swordmasty or axemastery they would have to do only up to max damage and i don't see the point in not being able to use a shield or off-hand for a skin.

GW2 maybe, not in GW1.
It would have a slower swing time then a one handed sword, and a higher dmg rate then a one handed sword.
It would require whole new mechanics being implimented. Maybe even a re-shuffle of the skills and new skills being added, because of the difference in dmg betwee one and two handed.
Its not something we need to worry about in GW1, because the current swords, hammers and mails do the job.

Assassin is pretty much the same thing, except the swords are shorter. 2 handed swords with same Damage as a regular sword would make it over powered. therefore they made the assassin.

Just to say that 2 handed swords could rock.
P.S. sorry about the ninja faces

i think ninja should dual wield weapons or so and though assas are really close to ninjas right?

Erm...we aren't getting any more professions, so scap that hope lol. I think it would be cool having a one-handed sword. I mean I can't think of any reason except personal like/dislike why it should not be implemented.

It matters how people play some players like to hit hard and do the most damage they can and some likes to have more defense, and plus the armor makes up the defense and you could always put the fortitude on the hilt of your weapons. And the guy who wants ninjas to be in guildwars there will not be ninja in guildwars, we already got assassins they is just like ninjas so no .
